What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers entrance to all scientific sessions and exhibits, the Opening Night Welcome Reception (+ 1 drink ticket), and the IMMUNOLOGY2020™ Meeting Guide. You may purchase the Full Scientific Program Book, the Abstract Book, tickets to one of the Roundtables, or Gala tickets when registering.
PLEASE NOTE: Your AAI Membership must be paid in full through 12/31/2020 to be eligible for the Member Rate. Will I receive confirmation of my registration?
After you register, an immediate email confirmation will be sent to the email address you provided.
Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?
We will be sorry that you will not be able to join us. A $75 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from all refunds issued for registration cancellations received by April 8, 2020. Refund requests must be submitted in writing, include the registrant’s confirmation number, and be received by 11:59 PM (EST), on April 8, 2020. No refunds will be issued after April 8, 2020. Please email your cancellation request to email@example.com.
What if AAI cancels the meeting once I have registered?
In the event the conference is cancelled, the full registration will be refunded to each registrant. Travel or housing reservation cancellations are the responsibility of the attendee.
If my plans change and I am unable to attend, can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes. If you are a member and they are not, the difference in the registration fees must be paid before the transfer is complete. If you are NOT a member and they are, we are unable to issue a refund of the difference in registration fees.

I’m a high school student or high school teacher, how do I register?
AAI offers complimentary registration to High School teachers and High School students, with a school ID. Students must be age 13 and older and accompanied by a registered adult. Participants can register on-site only. In lieu of a teacher/student ID, a letter on school stationary must be presented and signed by the department head, research advisory, principal or teacher.
I’m with the press. How do I register?
AAI offers complimentary press badges to pre-approved members of the working press with appropriate press credentials and to freelance writers bearing a letter of assignment (on the publication’s official letterhead) from an editor.
Approved press badge holders are required to provide AAI with copies of all articles written about IMMUNOLOGY2020™.
Complimentary press badges will NOT be issued to representatives from allied fields (public relations, public information, public affairs, scholarly journals or publishers). These individuals may register online and pay the applicable registration fee.

When will I receive my badge?
AAI does not mail badges prior to the meeting. All registered attendees will receive an email with instructions that includes a bar code for your badge pick up. Please bring the email with you to expedite the check-in process.
Opening Night Welcome Reception

Monday, May 11, 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
The highlight of the week, this year’s Gala will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the Great Lawn. Join us for an enchanting evening. Revel in the splendor of Hawai’I enjoying delicious food at an authentic lῡ’au. Traditional singers and dancers will offer a portrayal of the proud history of the Hawaiian people. This will be followed by music and dancing under the stars with live music.
Due to space and safety considerations, attendance will be limited and a ticket is required. Meeting registrant may purchase a ticket for $50. One guest ticket may be purchase per meeting registrant as well. Registrants must be 21 years of age or older.
Can I purchase event tickets for my guest/s?
The Opening Night Welcome Reception is for registered attendees only, therefore guest tickets are not available. You may purchase a guest ticket for the Gala for $100. This can be purchased when you register for the meeting.

Where can I purchase food during IMMUNOLOGY2020™?
During exhibit hours, concession stands will be open in the Exhibit Hall.
How can I get a letter of invitation?
For security purposes, letters of invitation will be sent only to individuals who are registered for the meeting. They can be requested during the registration process. After you have completed your registration, you will be offered the opportunity to request a letter of invitation.
I am considering bringing my family with me. Is this okay?
Children age 13 and older are welcome to attend IMMUNOLOGY2020™ if accompanied by a registered adult. Children under the age of 13 may not attend and are prohibited from entry into the Exhibit Hall*, session rooms, or hallways in the meeting area. No children will be allowed entry into special events.
*Babies under age 1 who are being carried or in a baby carrier (ie: baby sling – no car seats/strollers) may accompany their parent/guardian in the Exhibit Hall. Babies may not be placed on the floor on or left unattended.
Is there child-care available?
Onsite child-care will not be provided duringIMMUNOLOGY2020™. If you require a childcare provider during the meeting, you may contact your hotel concierge for recommendations or explore the following options*:

May I bring a guest with me who is a non-scientist to the sessions?
Unfortunately, we do not have GUEST PASSES. All attendees must be registered in order to gain access to the sessions and Exhibit Hall.
Does AAI offer CME credits?
Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits are NOT offered for this meeting. AAI, however, adheres to conflict-of-interest policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. AAI requires all speakers at AAI-sponsored meetings or programs to inform their audiences of their academic and professional affiliations, and to disclose any significant financial interests or other relationships they may have with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) discussed in their presentation. This information is required to be provided by speakers and is included in the back of the Scientific Program.
What is the dress code?
We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your meeting experience. Business casual dress is strongly encouraged. We suggest bringing a light sweater or jacket with you during the day as the meeting rooms are air-conditioned.
Do you record any of the sessions?
No sessions are recorded and recording of presentations by any means is strictly prohibited. Doing so may result in expulsion from the meeting.
AAI allows the distribution of promotional materials and approved related items from Exhibitors only in their booth. No materials may be distributed outside (hotels, Convention Center lobby area, session rooms, etc.) without permission.

If a hotel reseller or a housing firm contacts you and offers accommodations for your trip, they are not endorsed by or affiliated with AAI. Entering into financial arrangements with unaffiliated hotel resellers or housing firms can have costly consequences and may include leaving you stranded without a hotel reservation.
Are hotel discounts being offered?
Discounts are being offered through the IMMUNOLOGY2020™ website only. Please use this link to book your hotel. If you contact the hotels directly, you will not be able to receive the AAI discount.
Discounts for hotels are based on availability end on April 14, 2020.
Will I receive confirmation of my hotel reservation?
Yes. A confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you, via email, immediately after making your reservation. The confirmation will come from the official housing company,onPeak.
PLEASE NOTE: A final confirmation with your hotel confirmation number will be sent within 2 weeks of your arrival. The confirmation will NOT come directly from the hotel at which you will be staying, but from onPeak.
Will I be refunded if I need to cancel my hotel reservation?
Yes, a full refund will be provided if cancelled:
- For the Hilton Hawaiian Village, if cancelled within 48-hours of your arrival date.
- For the Ala Moana Hotel, Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach, DoubleTree and Ramada Plaza Waikiki, if cancelled within 72-hours of your arrival date.
- For the DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki, if cancelled 7 days prior of your arrival date.
If you cancel after these times, you will be charged 1 night’s room and tax.
Is there any shuttle service to and from IMMUNOLOGY2020™ hotels?
There is no transportation provided between the hotels and the Center. All of the IMMUNOLOGY2020™ hotels are within walking distance to the Center.
May I take photographs throughout the meeting?
Attendees are strictly prohibited from photographing and recording (audio or video) scientific sessions, including posters. Violators will be asked to delete photographs or recordings, and may risk expulsion from the meeting.
PLEASE NOTE: Authors are permitted to photograph their own posters.
Are there any airfare discounts?
How do I get from the airport to my hotel?
TheBus is the official transit service of Oahu. Buses run regularly through Honolulu and around the island, including the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). The fare is $2.50, which includes a free transfer (ask for it when you board) within a limited time window.
SpeediShuttle provides daily services from HNL to the AAI hotels.
- All incoming flights are monitored and fight arrival times are updated as needed.
- The shuttle rate is $16/person/one way.
- All airlines EXCEPT International arrivals should remain in the baggage claim area where you will be met by a SpeediShuttle greeter in Polynesian red with natural fern aloha attire holding a SPEEDISHUTTLE sign. DO NOT EXIT TO THE STREET.
- International arrivals will need to exit Customs to the street and wait by the information counter. You will be met and assisted by one of our SpeediShuttle greeters in Polynesian red with natural fern aloha attire, who will then escort you to your pickup area where the driver will load your luggage into one of our vehicles.
Taxi service is available on the center median in front of the terminal baggage area. Taxi dispatchers identified as such in yellow shirts, are available to assist with identifying available taxis. All taxis accept major credit cards. The average taxi fare (without traffic) from the airport to the AAI hotels is $40 – $45.
Lyft and Uber serve the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.
The Hawai’i Convention Center is a Biki Stop. Biki is Honolulu’s bikeshare program and is an alternative method of transportation that is convenient, affordable, and environmentally friendly. Passes can be purchased before riding by visiting gobiki.org.
HAWAI’I CONVENTION CENTER (HCC)

The Business Center is located on the Level 3 of the Convention Center.
There are 2 ATM’s on Level 1 in the Main Lobby, and 1 on Level 3 next to the Business Center.
Devices can be charged at 1 of 2 charging stations, located along the third floor.
Gender inclusive bathroom?
There is a “universal restroom” on Level 1 Lobby near Exhibit Hall 3.
Nursing Mother’s Lounge?
The Convention Center offers a private, comfortable and clean nursing pod. The pod is located at the Lobby Level near Exhibit Hall 1. To unlock, users may download the Mamava app or use HCC’s house phone (located beside the pod) and dial “0” to request the access code.
There is a parking garage at the Hawai’I Convention Center. The entrance is located on Kalakaua Avenue.
Complimentary WI-FI can be accessed in all public spaces of the convention center.
